What type of engineering is best for someone who…?
…wants to research/design/create methods of using alternative forms of energy (such as wind or solar energy)?
I’m looking for what would be the most likely college majors for someone who wants to do these things and perhaps it would also be helpful if you could say specifically what each type of engineer would do with regard to their green energy plans.

Mechanical or electrical would be a good place to start. I’d look for schools that have research departments doing work in alternate energy projects. There are also architect programs that are green building practices. There are several large green compitions a year for colleges,green houses,alternate fueled automobiles. etc.
