Hi everyone. i’ve been writing poems since i was young, love creative writing, and while i know i have a long way to go till i am good at writing poetry i have had quite a lot of praise for many i have wrote. i was trying a different style with this one, its not actually completed but i want opinions on it so far, its always good to have another persons perspective on your work:
A stroke of sunlight among the barriers of reeds,
Illuminating the murky waters below,
A river full of life, concealed by the load that it carries
Until this energy,
Breaking through the dense foliage above
Puts it all on show
Great shoals of minnow flitting between the green forests,
A dull blanket of colour dancing in the flow
Creatures seek refuge among the rocks of the riverbed landscape
Avoiding predators
That lay in wait among the shadows
For the meal they know.
I’m not a fan of poetry at ALL, and yet I really enjoyed that. I could hear the water, see the fish…
